matisyahu concert

I had the amazing chance to go to the matisyahu and 311 concert with a friend of mine. So I took off work to go, I knew the crowd would be a little strange due to the performance of 311. For those who do not know who matisyahu is, he is a Jewish reggae and beatbox artist. He is amazing and really connected to God. Unfortunately the 311 fans are not and there were plenty of fans getting high during the show. As matisyahu performed and poured his heart out on the stage my heart broke. I was sitting there seeing people getting high as matis was singing about God. I don’t understand how people can have something right in front of their face and still not embrace the concept of God. I knew there would be people doing drugs and I knew there would be people getting drunk. It was me that in spite of making a stand just became another face in the crowd. The performance was great and the experience showed me what needs to be done. We can no longer sit back and just let things happen. We can’t just become another face in the crowed. We must band together and go public with our lives devoted to Christ. We must stand up stand out and change the world. We see what should be different, and what could be different, so lets do something about it!
